LG Optimus Black:World’s New Slimmest Phone (For Now)
At 9.2mm thick, the Optimus Black from LG is the new world’s thinnest phone, and is pretty light too, at 109g. It’s also got a 4-inch NOVA screen for viewing in direct sunlight, too, and a 2MP forward-facing camera.
Available sometime in the first six months of 2011, the Optimus Black will go on sale running Android 2.2 (Froyo), but can be updated to Gingerbread later. There’s a 2MP forward-facing camera for video calls, plus WiFi Direct for data transfer between phones. We’re awaiting full specs, but check out the press release below—it may answer some questions you have about the phone that managed to just edge out Apple’s 9.3mm fatty.
Firefox 4 Beta 8 now Available for Download
Mozilla released version 8 of Firefox 4 Beta on Wednesday, December 22. The latest version brings two major improvements, which include improved Firefox Sync experience and further refined add-on manager. Remember The Fingerist, the guitar headstock-themed speaker and case for your iPhone or iPod touch? Indeed, there has been so little fanfare behind this announcement that the company responsible, Evenno, hasn’t even acknowledged it on its site.
