JailbreakMe Is Now Safe To Use After Being Transferred Over to Saurika
Jay Freeman, also known as Saurik, has purchased the JailbreakMe.com domain making it safe to use again.
Yesterday we reported that the JailbreakMe.com domain was no longer safe to use after ConceitedApps had sold the domain. Without control of the domain, the owner could have potentially uploaded malware, or some other malicious work. However, It seems that saurik was able to talk to the owner, and get the domain transferred. It is now in the hands of saurik and the iPhone Dev Team and should be safe to use.
UltraSn0w Unlock Gets Updated to Support iOS 4.3.1
The iPhone Dev-Team has announced an update to UltraSn0w that makes it compatible with iOS 4.3.1 for basebands previously unlocked.
We’ve pushed out the 4.3.1 compatibility fix for ultrasn0w in Cydia — it’s now at version 1.2.1. If you’re not already at 4.3.1 and you need the unlock, please be sure you understand how to get to 4.3.1 using a custom IPSW that doesn’t update your baseband. There are lots of guides for this (like at iClarified.com).
This isn’t a new unlock! It’s to allow those who are already unlocked to use FW 4.3.1. It also fixes the signal bar issue for those who aren’t using the unlock but retain an older baseband intentionally.
After installing UltraSn0w 1.2.1 you should reboot your device by using the normal power button and “Slide to Power Off” swipe. USA T-Mobile users need to disable 3G mode in Settings:General:Network.
iPhone Dev-Team to Release Unlock That Supports i4 Basebands Until 04.10.01
The iPhone Dev-Team has announced that they plan to release an unlock for the iPhone 4 that supports basebands until 04.10.01 (4.3b3).
Current i4 unlock goal includes til 04.10.01 (4.3b3). Very weird situation…vuln cmds are there, trying to invoke them!
How to Unlock the iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G Using UltraSn0w
These are instructions on how to unlock the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G for use with any GSM cellphone carrier using UltraSn0w. This will work with the iOS 4.2.1 firmware if you are on the 06.15.00baseband.
Before you can follow these instructions you must have a jailbroken iPhone and you must be on the 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, 06.15.00, or 01.59 baseband(modem firmware).
